Dr. Thomas is the Assistant Dean for Medical Education at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB) in Rochester, MI. He joined the OUWB faculty in July 2011, serving as the Molecular Biology Discipline Director and Endocrine Course Co-Director before transitioning to his current administrative role in July 2015. A 2013 graduate of the TBLC Trainer-Consultant program, Dr. Thomas co-founded OUWB’s TBL Oversight Team, created to promote the use of TBL, while ensuring the integrity and consistent delivery of TBL modules throughout the curriculum. He has delivered numerous workshops designed to convey the power of TBL, instructing both basic science and clinical faculty on TBL fundamentals, the creation of TBL modules, and proper TBL facilitation skills. Dr. Thomas is also heavily involved in the creation of “Revisions and Reflections” documents for all OUWB TBL modules, which includes recording all performance data and identifying means to enhance the modules for future use.
