ETBLC Board – Gemma Quinn

Discipline: Pharmacy
Institution: University of Bradford

About Me: I am a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy here at the University of Bradford. I am the programme lead for our MSc/PG Diploma Clincal Pharmacy (Secondary Care) and the overall lead for the postgraduate Clincal Pharamcy programmes.

My background is as a hospital pharmacist and whilst at Bradford I have developed a keen interest in acive learning both in the classroom and in the workplace. I completed my DPharm in 2017, having undertaken research on the learning process that occurs whilst students are on a pre-registration training placement. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Interest in TBL:  I was involved in the development and implementation of the innovative MPharm curriculum here at Bradford in 2012, when we took the decision to implement TBL across the whole programme. I have been involved in the programme sine then as Stage tutor (Year 1 and 4) and Unit lead as well as supporting other staff to develop their skills in writing and running TBL modules, units and sessions.

We have also introduced TBL to the MSc/PG Diploma Clincal Pharmacy (Secondary Care) this year, which we plan to evaluate.
