Michelle Z. Farland, PharmD, BCPS, CDE is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She has been using TBL since 2008 and has experience with implementation of TBL in small and large classes, with large classes of up to 250 students taught using synchronous video conferencing. Michelle has provided faculty development for a variety of colleges and schools of pharmacy interested in implementing and refining TBL use in the classroom. She has also presented numerous workshops at national conferences on TBL. In 2012 she was honored with the American College of Clinical Pharmacy New Educator Award. Michelle has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts related to team-based learning including an article titled: Best practices for implementing team-based learning in pharmacy education, published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education in 2013. She is an active member of the Team-Based Learning Collaborative and currently serves as a member of the Scholarship Committee (2013-present).
