Abbas Hyderi, MD

Dr. Hyderi is Associate Professor of Clinical Family Medicine as well as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine with principal oversight of all four years of the curriculum. After receiving his medical degree from UIC, he completed his residency in the combined family medicine and preventive medicine residency at Oregon Health and Science University. In addition to practicing inpatient and outpatient medicine, he is engaged in educational innovation, research and scholarship including being the Co-Chair of the Provost’s Strategic Planning Task Force on Interprofessional Education, Co-Principal Investigator for the primary care residency expansion grant for the UIC Family Medicine Residency, the Chair of the College-wide Curriculum Transformation Task Force and the Chicago campus lead for the prestigious 5-year Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Core Entrustable Activities for Entering Residency Project and the team that represented the College at Harvard’s Shapiro Institute Millenium Conference focused on post-clerkship curriculum.
