Colleen Corte, PhD, RN, is associate professor of nursing and associate head in the department of Health Systems Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing. She has been an educator and researcher since 2004. Her research is focused on alcohol use prevention in adolescents. Dr. Corte teaches a course on research design and methods to PhD students and a course on health equity and social determinants of health for Doctorate of Nursing Practice students. She has used TBL in both face-to-face and online formats. She and her colleague started the infusion of TBL into the College of Nursing. She has worked with numerous faculty in the College to move their courses from traditional lecture format to TBL.
