2018 Plenary – Dr. Boyd Richards

Since earning a Ph.D. over 30 years ago, I have focused my career on design, assessment, program evaluation, faculty development, and scholarship in medical education. I have participated in many educational research and scholarship endeavors, a number of which were funded by the federal government (NIH, Department of Education, and HRSA, foundations (Fullerton, Pepper, Macy, Stemmler, HHMI), and my local institution. I currently serve as Director of Educational Research and Scholarship at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Previous to moving to Utah in January, 2017, I served as the Director of the Center for Education Research and Evaluation at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (2006-2016), as Director of the Office of Curriculum at Baylor College of Medicine (1996 -2006), and as a member of the Office of Education Research and Service at Wake Forest School of Medicine (1985-1996).
