Dr. L. Dee Fink is an international consultant on college teaching and faculty development. He received his doctorate from the University of Chicago in 1976 and accepted an appointment at the University of Oklahoma in Geography and Higher Education. He founded the Instructional Development Program at Oklahoma (1979) and served as its director until he retired from there in 2005. He has been president of the POD Network (Professional and Organizational Development) in Higher Education (2003-2006), the primary professional organization for faculty developers.
He is author of “Creating Significant Learning Experiences: An Integrated Approach to Designing College Courses” (Jossey-Bass, 2013; updated ed.) and co-editor of “Team-Based Learning: A Transformative Use of Small Groups in College Teaching” (Stylus, 2004).
