About Me: I am a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at Bradford School of Pharmacy. During 2011, I project managed the development of a new integrated, outcomes-based pharmacy curriculum, which is delivered predominantly by Team-Based Learning.

I’ve worked at the University of Bradford since 1997, during which time I’ve been MPharm Programme Leader, Head of Division of Pharmacy Practice, Director of Learning and Teaching and Director of Admissions and Marketing in the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences. I also undertook a yearlong secondment to the University’s Centre for Educational Development as a Curriculum Development Fellow. Prior to taking a position at the University of Bradford I worked as a community pharmacist.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Educational Academy. I’m a TBLC accredited consultant-trainer in Team-Based Learning and I was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship in 2015 and was part of the team awarded a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) by the HEA in 2017.

Interest in TBL: I started using TBL in 2012 and have been delighted by its results. It is a well-designed active learning pedagogy that can really help ensure students are accountable for their preparation and are actively engaged in knowledge application and collaborative problem solving. I’ve spent the last few years promoting TBL to national and international audiences and my aim is to promote it more widely across Europe.
