TBLC 2020 Call for Research Grant Submissions – Due July 31

The Team-Based Learning Collaborative (TBLC) wishes to support and encourage research and scholarship in Team-Based Learning (TBL), and therefore announces the 2020 research grant program.

All TBLC members of at least two years are eligible to submit a grant proposal. Preference will be given to new projects and must be relevant to the mission of TBLC. The results of funded projects must be presented at a future TBLC meeting. The initial funding award will be announced via email, and at the 2020 TBLC meeting in Portland, Oregon.

Deadline for submission – July 31, 2019

The next issue of the membership newsletter of the Team-Based Learning Collaborative (TBLC), TBLC Global News, will be published in June. The purpose of this newsletter is to connect the TBLC membership with information about our collaborative, about opportunities to get involved with TBLC, and about each other. We are very pleased to dedicate one section of this newsletter to recognize the professional accomplishments of our members but we need your help! Have you received awards or promotions or landed a great new job in the last year? We would like to know about it and celebrate your professional accomplishments in our newsletter.

The TBLC supports and encourages research and scholarship in team-based learning. To help its members participate in opportunities that provide educational scholarship, the TBLC will provide funding to initiate new educational research or evaluation proposals in 2019-2020. This year there were several applicants who applied for the research grant, and we would like to recognize the winners for this year’s grant.

Each applicant and their research team will receive funding for administrative, technical, or statistical support to carry out their project indcluding research supplies & expenses (e.g., survey instruments, duplication, mailings), communication between participants (e.g., web/phone conference) and/or travel (up to $1,000).

How to Update Your TBLC Membership Profile

Did you know that you can update your contact information and add a picture to your TBLC Membership Profile? If you would like to update your information, you can do so by logging in to the TBLC Member’s Only section of the website here.

Once logged in, click “My Profile” at the top of the page. Once here, you can upload a picture to your profile by clicking on the current picture shown and also make any necessary changes to your membership profile, such as adding your address, phone number, or university.

If you don’t remember your password, you can use the “Forgot your password?” link under the login boxes. If you have any questions about uploading your picture or updating your membership profile, contact Danielle Inscoe at danielle@tblcadmin.org.

How to Connect with the Admin Team

Collaborative Manager

 Julie has been supporting TBLC for over 9 years in many different ways. Currently, she is responsible for Board and Committee support and conference management. Julie will continue to oversee the rest of the management team to support the overall needs of the Collaborative. 

Danielle Inscoe, QAS
Managing Director

Danielle’s role with TBLC will be as the first point of member contact whether by phone or email. She will be helping to manage the day-to-day operations of the Collaborative and will be available to answer questions regarding memberships and upcoming Collaborative activities. 

Cassie Chinn, MAJ, QAS
Communications Director

Cassie serves TBLC as the liaison of communications between and among the membership. She can be found serving the Membership and Website committees, working on the daily email communications and working on the quarterly newsletter. She helps create posts to get the word out about what goes on within the organization. Cassie also ensures the website for TBLC is always up to date while also helping get new content posted as it becomes available.

Amoritia Strogen-Hewett, QAS
Conference Logistics

Amoritia manages the bulk of conference as well as on-site logistics. Although Amoritia is not involved with TBLC on a daily basis, she is always ready and willing to help as needed and may be seen at the annual meeting or upcoming workshops.

Early Bird Discount Deadline is January 15, 2019!

The 2019 TBLC Annual Conference is right around the corner! The Early Bird Deadline is January 15. Currently, registration is $395/$495 for member/non-member. After the Early Bird Deadline, rates will increase to $475/$575 for member/non-member registration. Be sure to register before this deadline to receive the reduced rate!


The TBLC attendee room rate is $239 per night at the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel. The special room rate is for the nights of March 14-16, 2019. This special rate will only be available until February 11, 2016.
After February 11, the hotel cannot guarantee a room for TBLC attendees, so be sure to book your hotel before the cut off!
